A lot of sellers here in Toronto have been enjoying selling their homes because they're currently getting more money for them. Not a lot of people think to sell right now, but it's actually quite a good time to get into this market. I'm going to list just a few reasons why below.

• You can get 2-3% more money for your home: This is money in your pocket, and depending on what your home is worth, it could be thousands of extra dollars. But why are people getting more money? Well, the buyers coming out to look for homes in the winter tend to be the most serious. 

• In 60 days inventory is set to skyrocket: In a matter of two months, you can expect inventory to increase by 4-5 times the amount we have now. When buyers have more to choose from, the price falls down.

Hello, and welcome to the first edition of Rene's Real Estate Classroom! If you want to find success in real estate, you have to be organized. Here at the Rene Team, we keep a chalkboard to help us track the work we're doing every week.

Although it's only mid-January, the Toronto real estate market is hot. Inventory is low, and buyers are out and looking. Recently, in -20° weather, we had six showings at one of our newly listed properties! We've noticed that the buyers out there now are looking for quick closings, anywhere from 30 to 60 days. These buyers are looking to take advantage of these low interest rates and are highly qualified. 

There is a lot of great property on the market right now, which is fantastic news for buyers. Many homeowners aren't waiting until spring to sell, but want to get the job done sooner, and we've found that the buyers are very pleased with the options out there.

In short, our market is very active right now. It appears that buyers and sellers alike are trying to get a jump on the spring real estate season, and are greatly benefiting from it.
